This role is crucial in enhancing core and data analytics capabilities across various functional domains, with a focus on Procurement and Financial Management (FM) datasets. By improving the linkage of these datasets, we provide the Department of Defense (DoD) with essential insights into mission-critical processes. The position requires enhancing the quality and completeness of data at detailed contract line item number (CLIN) and line of accounting (LOA) levels, ensuring robust and reliable data integration for optimal decision-making. RequirementsU.S. Citizenship Required
Security Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

Education: Bachlor's Degree or Higher

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience writing and speaking about technical concepts to business, technical, and lay audiences and giving data-driven presentations.
    • Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including business stakeholders, technical teams, and non-technical laypersons.
    • Skilled in creating and delivering data-driven presentations that clearly articulate technical information and insights.
    • Experience in tailoring communication styles and content to suit the knowledge level and interests of different audience groups.
  • 5+ years experience developing in Python and ETL; experience with Apache Spark highly desired
    • Over five years of hands-on experience in developing applications and solutions using Python and ETL.
    • Demonstrated expertise in leveraging Apache Spark for large-scale data processing and analytics.
    • Proficiency in writing clean, efficient, and scalable code, with a strong understanding of best practices in software development.
  • 5+ years experience developing dashboards using either Qlik or Tableau
    • Extensive experience in designing and developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using Qlik or Tableau.
    • Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices, ensuring that dashboards effectively convey insights and support decision-making.
    • Ability to integrate and manipulate data from various sources to create comprehensive and user-friendly dashboards.
    • Skilled in customizing and optimizing dashboards to meet the specific needs of different users and stakeholders.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience working directly with either contracting or FM data sources

Major Duties:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards according to user requirements
  • Collaborate with data engineering and functional resources to build performant applications to support requirements from the procurement, FM and other communities as needed and approved by CDAO leaders
  • Designs, configures, develops, tests, and supports informatics and data science solutions for a wide array of technical use cases;
  • Applies analytical methodologies to diagnose data-related challenges, implement solutions, and evaluate performance;
  • Documents and presents requirements, design alternatives, and findings to team members and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to develop strategic, baseline, data modeling processes; ability to accurately determine cause-and-effect relationships; and
  • Experience with integrated development environments, data integration, data visualization, data mining, and analysis tools.
