Job Title: Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing and a deep understanding of payroll regulations and compliance. Experience with Paylocity and processing of union payrolls is a big plus.

Responsibilities:

• Process payroll for employees on a weekly basis (salaried and hourly workforce)
• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
• Create and enhance payroll processing procedures to improve work flow and efficiency
• Maintain employee payroll records and ensure confidentiality
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
• Stay up-to-date with payroll regulations and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
• Analyze and reconcile any payroll related issues to ensure accuracy
• Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed
• Review monthly invoices from carriers and approve for payment
• Handle employee concerns regarding payroll and deductions through active listening to find mutually satisfactory solutions

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

- At least 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing. Union payroll and multi-state payroll experience is preferred.

- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, compliance, and statutory requirements

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and payroll software

- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast paced environment.

- Ability to collaborate with team members in Finance and Human Resources
