Key Counter Associate for Hardware Store

Position Summary

Primary responsibility for all positions with S & S ACE Hardware in Braselton is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time. Key Counter floor associates are responsible for cutting keys, learning to program keys, engaging the customer, determining their needs and projecting requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must understand technics of cutting keys.
• Put away merchandise (as arranged by management). Maintain your assigned department: Keep clean, organized and fully stocked.
• Learn/demonstrate the ins and outs of the key cutting equipment including classes on programing keys along with the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management displaying a sense of urgency while paying attention to the details.
• Use designed websites to research keys.
• Restock merchandise displays as needed. Report outs to manager.
• When you are not with a customer or cleaning, walk up and down the aisle to be sure customers are being assisted.
• Serve Customers in assigned departments, or storewide, and provide needed advice or information, greet all customers.
• Assist Customers with simple complaints/concerns; get a manager involved with problems as needed.
• Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisement so you can tell customers about special sales.
• Always wear your radio and headset in order to effectively communicate with other associates or management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge and experience with cutting keys.
• Able to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Skilled at providing prompt, friendly and attentive customer service.
• Strong computer and organizational skills with a passion for details
• Willing to learn all areas of the store and be cross trained.
• Knowledge and experience of various departments is strongly desired.
• A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
• Availability must be flexible including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Bilingual (Spanish) verbal and written communication skills are a plus.
