Authority: Responsible for assigned areas of project/program performance (scope, schedule, budget), corrective actions, change orders and reporting to functional management on progress.

Leveling Description: Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.

Core Description: Assist the Project Manager to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints. Provides technical support for the engineering process and contributes to the completion of a project. Analyze project requirements, to develop and implement work breakdown structures to ensure the established scope, schedule and budget is met for all assigned projects across all functions. Reviews reports of production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine or address problems.

Essential Job Functions:

· Provide project progress reports and metrics to functional management and other stakeholders in accordance with an approved communication plan.

· Coordinate with Project Manager, as required, to interface with external customers throughout the project life cycle to meet customer requirements.

· Develop production schedule in accordance with project objectives, and estimated labor budget.

· Develop and implement work breakdown structures to ensure the established scope, schedule and budget is met for all program/project proposals, including project flow chart creation and change management.

· Contribute/consult with preparing program/project proposals, change orders, and/or corrective actions.

· Consults with SME(s), or acts as SME, to ensure projects and/or programs meet existing and new regulatory requirements.

· Communicates and directs team project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.

· Works with PM and Supervisors on requisition of resources to meet project objectives; reviews allocation of resources and approves reprioritization as necessary.

· Coordinate with the Functional Managers/Supervisors to establish weekly Associate assignment schedules.

· Work as part of a team with supervisors, providing feedback to assist in coaching and developing associates on their assigned projects.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Education Requirements – Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with engineering, operations and/or project management.
  • Advanced field, drafting and/or design knowledge
  • Familiar with basic concepts, practices, and procedures used in general management of specific function(s)
  • Experience in project scheduling, cost controls, tracking and reporting methodologies.
  • Knowledge of financial principles to quantify costs and benefits of projects and to track and maintain project budges.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate team efforts, provide guidance and direction to team members, and communicate project objectives, parameters, status, and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check
  • Computer literate – especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Willing to travel as needed, including overnight travel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team, establishing and sustaining relationships with colleagues and employees at all levels in the company
  • Strong technical skills
  • Basic financial skills to make sound business decisions
  • Ability to work during core work hours of 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM – occasional weekend work may be required as duties demand
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to endure frequent, lengthy periods of sedentary work and sit for prolonged periods of time.

· Must be able to utilize a computer keyboard, computer monitor, and telephone for prolonged periods of time.

· Must have the physical ability to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing notes, and viewing a computer terminal; these activities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Must have the physical ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, often in a group setting.

· Must have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
