The role involves close collaboration with the Nevada Judicial Branch leadership to ensure communication initiatives are continually refined to meet current needs.

The Social Media and Internal Communications Specialist plays a key role in fulfilling the Administrative Office of the Courts' mission to be an influential and respected voice for the Nevada Judiciary. This role is pivotal in our efforts to enhance service and information dissemination to Nevada's citizens. Tasks will be completed with the goal of increasing accountability and transparency, ensuring our communication and outreach initiatives are clear, effective, and meet the community's needs

This position can be located in Carson City or Las Vegas. The Social Media and Internal Communications Specialist will be part of the People Operations Team, which includes Human Resources, Payroll, Web Content, and Online Education. After an initial training period, there may be an opportunity for a hybrid remote/in-office schedule.

Responsibilities

Social Media Management:

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to support Nevada Appellate Courts and Judicial Branch initiatives.
  • Monitor social media channels for trends, feedback, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Analyze social media metrics and adjust strategies to improve performance.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Develop comprehensive content calendars for various social media platforms, including graphics, video, and written copy.
  • Collaborate with Nevada Judicial Branch units and third-party partners to create informational products for external and internal audiences.

Internal Communications:

  • Develop and distribute internal communications, including intranet content, announcements, and updates.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative internal culture through effective communication strategies.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at staff development and well-being, including events, recognition campaigns, and promoting amenities.
  • Work with various departments to gather information and create media and documents highlighting organizational achievements and challenges.
  • Partner with HR to communicate policies, programs, and employee benefits.
  • Coordinate with IT to ensure smooth operation of communication tools and platforms.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff regarding best practices for communication and social media usage.
  • Provide ongoing support to committees and commissions within the AOC.

Program and Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to social media and internal communications.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze social media and internal communication metrics.
  • Generate and distribute reports on engagement, reach, and other key metrics.
  • Use data insights to recommend improvements to communication strategies and content.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to social media and internal communications.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for enhancing communication strategies and tools.
  • Develop technical and professional skills that support the continuity of operations for the department.
  • Assist the Chief People Officer with support functions such as communications, travel preparations, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in social media management, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
  • Experience in internal communications and content creation.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to social media and communication tools.
  • Basic understanding of graphic and video creation.
  • Willingness to learn new technical skills and concepts.
  • Experience with analytic reporting tools to track and analyze engagement and performance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with governmental or legal settings is a plus.

Effectively works remotely and collaborates with employees from a remote location, as needed. Must have expertise in virtual meeting platforms, such as Teams. Must have the ability to work remotely via an internet network connection provided by the employee. This connection speed must be sufficient to perform all duties. A minimum of 50-100 mb download speeds are required. Higher connection speed may be required if sharing this connection with other members in an employee’s household.
