A staff speech-language pathologist assumes responsibility in the daily activities of the speech rehab services. This includes evaluating and developing treatment plans for outpatients, inpatients, IRU and Generations patients. He/she is directly responsible to the department director, and has the responsibility for overall direction, utilization, supervision, instruction, and evaluation of professional and supportive staff, and students in their area of the services. In addition, the staff therapist is involved in documenting as necessary and appropriate, while assisting, or actively participating, in quality management, performance improvement, corporate compliance and safety procedures for the department/facility.

This position reports to the Director of Clinical Outcomes.

This position is hourly (non-exempt).

Effective 6/21/23 there is no longer a need for either vaccination confirmation or a medical/religious exemption.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Speech-Language Pathology with a preferred minimum of two (2) years' experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must know the principles and practice of Speech Therapy
  • Be familiar with the American Speech & Hearing Association Code of Ethics
  • Department/facility policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Layout of the department/facility
  • Be aware of inter and intra department/facility communications.
  • Patient supervision and management techniques

Licensure, registration and certification:

  • Must have a certificate from an ASHA accredited graduate school of Communication Science and Disorders
  • Preferably maintains membership in ASHA.
  • Must have, or be eligible for State Licensure. Licensure must be obtained within one (1) year of hire date
    • Maintains current state registration with the Kansas Department of Aging & Disability Services.
    • Obtains and maintains verification card of current instruction in CPR
