As a Certified Biomedical Technician working for a reputable reseller of medical devices and hospital equipment, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and client satisfaction with the products offered. Your responsibilities will encompass l actively contributing to the sales process by providing technical expertise and support, ensuring the seamless integration of medical equipment into healthcare facilities. Your dedication to quality assurance, compliance with standards, and effective communication with clients and internal teams will be crucial in maintaining positive client relationships and contributing to the overall success of the reseller. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on medical equipment supplied by the reseller.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in medical devices, collaborating with manufacturers for technical support.
  • Coordinate with clients to perform on-site repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure that medical equipment meets regulatory standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform safety testing on medical devices, addressing any compliance issues promptly.
  • Implement quality control measures to guarantee the accuracy and reliability of resold medical equipment.
  • Collaborate with clients and manufacturers for equipment upgrades or replacements.
  • Provide training to clients' medical staff on the proper use and maintenance of resold medical equipment.
  • Create and update documentation, including manuals and user guides tailored to the equipment provided by the reseller.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and tools necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Collaborate with the reseller's procurement team to ensure the availability of required components.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand client needs and provide technical expertise during the sales process.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, equipment vendors, and service representatives to address technical queries and concerns.
  • Conduct performance testing on medical devices to ensure accuracy and reliability, providing valuable data for the reseller's sales and marketing efforts.
  • Validate the functionality of new equipment before it is delivered to clients.
  • Provide ongoing technical support to clients, addressing issues promptly and maintaining positive client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associate degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics, or a related field. A bachelor's degree is often preferred.
  • Certification as a Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or similar certification is required.
  • Additional certifications from manufacturers or industry-recognized organizations are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Biomedical Technician, preferably in a role involving the maintenance and repair of medical devices.
  • Familiarity with a variety of medical equipment and systems commonly used in healthcare facilities.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing medical devices, including but not limited to diagnostic imaging equipment, patient monitoring systems, and laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, as well as a strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and guidelines relevant to medical equipment, such as FDA regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, sales teams, and manufacturers.
  • Ability to translate technical information into understandable terms for clients and non-technical staff.
