Dean of Academics

St. Mary's Ryken High School is currently searching for a Dean of Academics. This role will assist the Principal in all aspects of the Administration of the administration of the school's academic life.

This individual works with the Principal and the administrative team to provide leadership, vision and strategic planning for curriculum, instruction, assessment, and academic programs/policies. He/she models Catholic and Xaverian values and supports and promotes the school's mission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Oversees the implementation and routine review of rigorous college preparatory curriculum including scope and sequence planning and use of learning management system.
Develops and implements a framework for the strategic use of data to drive improved teaching and learning.
Collaborates with department leaders to integrate educational initiatives and resources.
Supervises academic clubs and societies.
Collaborates with the Principal and Dean of Faculty and Student Development to identify and address professional development needs.
Supervises grade reporting, textbook adoption, course placement, master scheduling, rosters, and readiness for graduation.
Develops and supervises educational options for students (online and dual enrollment, summer programming).
Lead implementation of accommodations for students with challenges accessing the curriculum.
Serves as a member of the Admissions Committee, coordinating aspects of academic matters for incoming students.

Qualities and Qualifications

Educational professional with at least 10 years of teaching experience, Master's degree in an education-related field.
Demonstrated leadership using data to improve student outcomes.
Five years of experience of exemplary leadership in curriculum, instruction, and professional development.
Advanced technology skills.
Proven skills in building relationships among all stakeholders including administration, faculty, parents, students and program partnerships. Excellent oral, written, analytical and organizational skills.
