Threat Analyst

SecureSky, Inc. is Seeking a Threat Analyst

SecureSky is an advanced cloud and hybrid cybersecurity provider, providing enablement and optimization of XDR platforms and managed security services including Managed Detection and Response (MDR), Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM), and ongoing XDR platform management.

This position is a full-time permanent position and is onsite in our Omaha, Nebraska office.

The successful candidate will act as a threat analyst for client IT environments, hunting for and responding to malicious activities and risks, to prevent successful cyber-attacks.

Responsibilities:

This role will work in multiple client environments on a weekly basis. Responsibilities include:

• Performing exposure and threat hunting.
• Responding to security alerts.
• Documenting results of reviews and investigations.
• Developing queries and investigative capabilities based on threat intelligence and active attack vectors.
• Creating and delivering client reports, including risk and threat findings, pertinent attack methodologies, recommendations for security posture improvements, and new features of XDR applications.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

Primary technical work will consist of investigating threats detected in client environments. Skills and experiences that would be beneficial for this role include:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a concentration or substantial coursework in cybersecurity.
• Practical experience in threat investigations and/or incident response.
• Comprehension of common attack vectors, threat intelligence parameters, and security technologies.
• Interest in creating statements to query log data to perform detections, analysis, and reporting.
• Strong verbal and written skills for effective client communications and internal documentation, with a desire to work daily with clients.
