Our Client, is a family-owned company in business for over 150 years. The company repairs and services machinery for the gas compression, power generation, industrial manufacturing, and plastics and rubber compounding industries.
Job Summary:
Operate CNC machines that cut, shape, drill, bore, thread, or face metal workpieces according to specifications. Capable of operating engine lathes and boring mills. New hires will have a review with merit increase eligibility at 3 months, 6 months and 1 year of service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Daily lifts workpiece and positions and secures workpiece between lathe centers, in chuck, or in holding fixture, or positions workpiece in automatic loading mechanism.
- Daily observes machining operation to detect malfunction or excessive tool wear.
- Daily verifies that machined workpiece conforms to specifications.
- Daily changes worn tools. Machines plastic or other nonmetallic materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
1. MACHINIST CNC and/or Manual
Required Skills:
- CNC lathe: 2 years (Required)
- CNC milling machine: 2 years (Required)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
2. Machinist
Required Skills:
- CNC Machining: (Required)
- CNC lathe: 1 year (Preferred)
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training.
Independent Action:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Working Conditions:
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Physical Requirements:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
