This is a high-profile position responsible for leading and managing a team of up to 8 accountants, with accountability for financial performance, accurate forecasting, and management reporting.

- The successful candidate will demonstrate successful career progression with a minimum of 6 years of relevant financial experience including diverse accounting and finance responsibilities, team leadership, employee development, and strategic thought.
The right person will be equally comfortable rolling up their sleeves or operating at the executive level. This requires strong communication skills and an eye for detail. The role reports to the CEO and is a member of the Leadership Team.
- Perform regular financial analysis. Direct financial reviews to understand performance and initiate/support appropriate actions to reduce financial variances to meet objectives.
- Oversee the financial strategic planning of the company by evaluating its performance and potential risks.
- Collaborates with the key stakeholders to create budgets and track key performance indicators.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across the organization.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets.
- Prepare detailed reports on the company’s financial performance.
- Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
- Create coaching and development plans for current team members, potentially creating a new position when needed
- Work directly with accountants in a collaborative, hands-on sense with the day-to-day work.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or relevant field.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in financial management with proven experience as a director of finance or similar role.
- Outstanding leadership, performance management, and talent development skills.
- A proven track record of developing people who’ve advanced under your leadership into other positions.
- You’re able to explain things simply to employees and those outside the organization. You’re able to treat both as your customer.
- An analytical mind with strategic thought, ability, and organizational skills.
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and QuickBooks.
