Summary of Role:

The Director IT – SAP Solution will serve as the leader of the SAP Technical Support and Development Team and have oversight responsibility across all change management and 24/7 technical support of the recently implemented SAP S/4 HANA cloud solution – focused on Fiori App User interface and supporting modules.

We are seeking a skilled SAP Support Manager with a strong background in IT Service Management (ITSM) to lead our SAP technical support and development team comprised of inhouse, on-shore members; complemented with a managed services team consisting of Near/Off-shore members. This individual will be responsible for managing all aspects of SAP system support and configuration / development request, ensuring high levels of system performance, reliability, and user satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in SAP system support, with a focus on Fiori App user focus within the healthcare industry, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

S/he will be an ambassador for instilling our cultural values and influential in recruiting, retaining, and developing talent to deliver better patient outcomes. It will also be the responsibility of this position to execute continued efforts towards enterprise resource planning to ensure long term sustainability of the business and improve our employee experience and productivity.

Essential Functions:

Reporting to the Sr Director – IT Applications:

  • Lead and manage the SAP technical support and development team, ensuring effective support and maintenance of SAP ERP systems and all supporting modules.
  • Develop and implement ITSM best practices, processes, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SAP support services.
    • Understanding of release and change management for a production environment
    • Multi-level Environment Management strategy
    • SME for all escalation and ITSM process
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT and business units, to identify, prioritize, and resolve SAP-related issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive SAP support strategy that aligns with Lantheus IT change control in a validated GxP / SOX environment includes incident management, problem management, and service improvement plans.
  • Coordinate between solution architect, ABAP/Fiori developers, and functional IT business support members to implement system changes, updates, and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure the SAP system aligns with healthcare industry standards and needs.
  • Oversee the management of SAP system configurations, updates, and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry regulations and standards in all SAP system modifications and support activities.
  • Monitor SAP system performance, identifying trends and potential issues, and implementing proactive measures to prevent system downtime.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including negotiating contracts and overseeing the delivery of vendor-supported services.
    • Understanding the scope of services and roles & responsibilities
    • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met
  • Develop and manage the SAP support budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of support services.
  • Provide regular reports on SAP system status, support activities, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Lead and manage the SAP support team, both on site and managed services. ensuring high levels of performance in managing both incidents and service requests.
  • Implement and adhere to ITSM best practices, focusing on continual service improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in SAP support management, preferably within the healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of ITSM principles and experience in implementing ITSM processes.
  • SAP certification(s) in relevant module(s) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the skill to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards impacting SAP applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of GxP and SOX Controls in a life science industry preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
