Position Summary


We are looking for an audiologist to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in our Hamilton, NJ clinic.


This position is part of the VBA MDE (Veterans Benefits Administration Medical Disabilities Examinations) program. The Vendor schedules Veterans at contracted clinical facilities and embeds practitioners in facilities as needs warrant. Dedicated facilities are located in areas where there is a large Veteran population with the potential for high volume.

The appointments consist of assessments that help the VA answer questions about the Veterans’ current health. The practitioners will not make a determination of percent of disability or rating, develop any treatment plans or prescribe medication.

Prior to every exam, the practitioner reviews each Veteran’s medical or mental health history, using electronic bookmarks that highlight the portions applicable to the Veteran’s claim(s) condition. Electronic exam documentation must be submitted within 1-2 business days of each appointment. The work performed is reviewed by a team of medical professionals at LHI to ensure contract compliance. Any requests for changes or corrections must be completed within 1 business day.


Role Specifics/Audiometry

  • Exams are a comprehensive audio exam for assessing hearing loss or tinnitus
  • Common testing includes Pure Tone Air and Bone, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing and speech recognition
  • All equipment necessary to perform duties will be available on-site with custom soundproof booths

Work Environment

This job operates in a healthcare setting. The role routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.


Physical Demands

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Requirements:

Must hold an Audiologist License as required by state law, and have at minimum a Master's degree from CAA or ACAE accredited program.
