Position Overview

As an Ocular Tissue Recovery Technician, you'll play a vital role in our mission. Your expertise will directly impact lives by recovering corneal tissue for transplant and research purposes. Imagine being the bridge between donors and recipients-the conduit of hope and healing.

What You'll Do
  • Precision Recovery: You'll perform technical procedures with surgical precision. Your meticulous approach ensures the highest quality tissue.
  • Data Collection: You'll gather essential medical, behavioral, and laboratory data. Your attention to detail ensures quality donor screening.
  • Ethical Stewardship: You'll honor the donor's gift by using surgical aseptic techniques. With respect and dignity, you'll recover tissue that will transform lives.
  • On-Call Hero: Be ready to leap into action at any hour. When the call comes, you'll be there-swift, skilled, and dedicated to saving sight.
Qualifications
  • Technical Skills: Your experience in tissue recovery sets you apart. You're comfortable handling blood products and using aseptic techniques.
  • Empathy: You genuinely care about people.
  • Compliance: You adhere to LWVI Policies, Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) Medical Standards, and FDA Good Tissue Practices (GTP's).
