This is a freelance, remote position.

Screen Rant is the #1 entertainment website on the web and publishes up-to-the-minute news on blockbuster movies, TV, video games, and comic books. We deliver the biggest, most important industry happenings, and provide deep analysis and sharp commentary through interviews, reviews, and much more.

We are looking for a Lead Image Editor to manage SR's Image Editing Team as they continue to provide vibrant and eye-catching images to showcase in our articles, social media, and other publishing platforms.

Requirements:

  • An eye for what makes an aesthetically pleasing - and clickable - image
  • Good understanding of images’ role in publishing, Google Search, Discover, social
  • Experience managing a small team and concurrent projects
  • Expert-level knowledge of Photoshop
  • Familiarity with the topics Screen Rant covers is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Images across all Screen Rant verticals
    • Maintain and communicate Image guidelines
    • Audit images for adherence to best practices and provide feedback
    • Optimize Images for maximum clicks
  • Manage a team of dedicated image editors
    • Ensure tasks are assigned and completed efficiently
    • Maintain quality and variety of images
  • Oversee expansive Image projects
    • Sourcing Image packages for new releases
    • Create Images for high-authority articles
    • Develop new Image styles and concepts
  • Train editors and writers in how to create eye-catching images to complement their content
