Job Description:

ANGARAI is looking for a highly competent User Acceptance Tester (UAT) to support a public sector Client.

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

The User Acceptance Tester (UAT) will be responsible for the following activities:

  • Lead end-users and clients for application modernization testing to conform to real-world tasks as needed for business operations that can be performed using the software.
  • Provide functional and technical guidance to each Program Manager as they navigate the UAT process.
  • Provide best practices when using quality test scripts created by the vendor, based upon user story adaptation, business requirements, and iteration release.
  • Assist Program Subject Matter Experts and leaders as part of the team, serving as a bridge and liaison between the vendor and agency.
  • Participate in the acceptance testing process throughout the development of UAT for each Program area tested.
  • Gather and understand requirement documents, user stories, decision design documents, and other product information to assist in defining acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in program level sprints in preparation for UAT. In some cases, UAT may take place after more than one sprint.
  • Develop UAT test cases by working with the Program Manager and Staff.
  • Provide insight on robust test script development and performance expectations for each program based upon the program level requirements.
  • Create testing tools as needed for Program-specific needs using MS Access, MS Excel Macros, other third-party efficiency tools.
  • Create or utilize tools to record user validation of artifacts tested.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing which may be a part of each program's testing plan based upon the system environment and the program's business requirements.
  • Provide suggestions for User Acceptance Testing processes and guidance using standard documentation for each program.
  • Interact with the Program Specific user requirements before release to production to see if any features have been overlooked or if it contains any bugs.
  • Manage the final sign offs on iterations and products for use by users and product owners.
  • Adhere to a pre-established documentation and storage process for each Program, assuring complete UAT documentation is captured and stored, with appropriate document permissions.
  • Perform special projects and related duties as assigned by the Client PMO Director.

Minimum Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Information Systems
  • At least (5) years of experience managing User Acceptance Testing.
  • At least (7) plus years of experience in testing (Integration, Regression, User Acceptance Test) Software applications, COTS, SaaS products.
  • Exhibits a clear understanding of UAT processes, conditions for acceptance, and definitions of complete for each area of UAT Testing at the Program Level
  • Ability to plan, organize and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously, assuring prompt attention, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand and interpret software requirements and know the process transformation of business rules into detailed documentation and validate through system functionality.
  • Expertise in analyzing Program-specific information which drives appropriate recommendations for testing using appropriate data analysis tools.
  • Ability to document and escalate software problems and to recommend solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively- orally, in writing, and according to established communication pathways.
  • Capability and follow-through to prepare accurate, concise, and informative reports.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
