Currently we are seeking a Controls Engineer Manager to join our team and be an essential part of our manufacturing team. This person will oversee the design, development, and implementation of control systems for various applications. This position reports to the Director of New Product Development.



Your Role in Our Mission:
  • Directly manage the controls engineering team, providing guidance and support to ensure success in designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems.
  • Oversee control system projects from inception to completion ensuring projects are completed efficiently.
  • Drive innovation and product development initiatives to enhance the performance, reliability, and sustainability of garbage trucks.
  • Overseeing the testing and validation of control systems to ensure they meet performance specifications, reliability standards, and safety requirements.
  • Ensuring that control systems comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team in resolving complex technical issues and optimizing system performance.
  • Provide training, coaching, and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their technical skills.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements, address concerns, and deliver high-quality control systems that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous learning within the controls team.

To Perform this Job Successfully:
  • Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of fabrication, assembly, and automotive related processes.
  • Two years of experience in a leadership role required.
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and its use as a design tool.
  • Proficient with computers and computer software including Microsoft Office products, data entry, and information processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with a collaborative management style.
  • Possess a deep understanding of control system design principles.
  • Basic understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Strong background of mathematics, geometry, statistics, and their applications.
  • The ability to read and develop schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
  • Problem-solving ability using analytical reasoning and creative thought processes.
