The Kensington Hotel has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician We offer a full-time, flexible schedule.

We are looking for someone to:

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance work while working in cooperation with other members of the hotel to ensure the successful and profitable operation of the hotel

To assist with preventative maintenance including minor repair orders such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, etc., to maintain the hotel and keep property quality to standards.

To check electrical systems such as air-conditioning control, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacements.

To perform electronic lock repairs, programming, telephone system, and television maintenance.

To check and make minor repairs on plumbing systems/fixtures such as pipeline, toilets, and sinks.

To refurbish furniture and fixtures such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters.

To touch up paints and finishes on doors and fixtures as needed.

To respond in a courteous manner to guest questions and/or to ensure guest satisfaction.

To assist with snow removal during the winter months.

To assist the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in any project as directed.

To follow all safety procedures in conformance with the laws having jurisdiction.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older

Ability to communicate in English with guests and associates to their understanding.

Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with a minimum of supervision.

Ability to exert physical effort in transporting supplies.

Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.

Ability to adapt to priority changes of workflow or requirements.

Ability to operate and remain extremely alert while operating equipment, machinery, and tools.

Ability to ensure security of guestroom access and hotel property.

Ability to maintain confidentiality of hotel guests and pertinent hotel information.
