Position Overview: As a Network Architect, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of network solutions at Acture Solutions. You will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing network architectures from the ground up and taking over existing infrastructures. Your exceptional organizational skills and technical expertise will ensure that our clients receive robust and reliable network connectivity across their campuses, WANs, and the internet.

Your Role & Impact:

  • Connectivity: Design and implement robust connectivity solutions across routing, switching, and wireless networks on campuses, over WAN, and to the Internet.
  • Network Security: Manage network security (NGFW, VPN, SDWAN, NAC, SIEM/SOAR configurations) and work with various firewall vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Barracuda, Meraki, etc.
  • Layer Management: Handle Layer 2 and 3 management, including Spanning Tree, Ethernet trunking, VLANs, Port Aggregation, and QoS tagging.
  • Routing Services: Proficiently manage routing services like DHCP and DNS; knowledge in email routing and security is a plus.
  • Technology Integration: Work with EDR/MDR/NDR technologies and integrate on-premises systems with cloud services like AWS, Azure, Google, and co-location data sources.
  • Advanced Tools: Leverage experience with Cisco ISE and/or Aruba ClearPass to enhance network security and management.
  • PSA Systems: Work within PSA systems such as ConnectWise and Autotask to manage and streamline service delivery.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues and provide third-level support.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain clean documentation, clear network topology diagrams, and well-defined configuration change paths.
  • Network Takeover & Optimization: Assess and optimize existing network infrastructures to align with best practices and client requirements.
  • Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their business needs and deliver tailored network solutions.
  • Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Who You Are - Required Qualifications:

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in networking, with a minimum of five years managing and implementing multi-location site-to-site and campus-wide networks. Expertise in Cisco and Aruba technologies is essential.
  • Certifications: CCNP/CCIE, Aruba Certified Design Professional/Expert (ACDP/X) or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong background in designing and implementing complex network infrastructures using Cisco and Aruba technologies.
    • Extensive experience with network security, including NGFW, VPN, SDWAN, and more.
    • Proficiency in Layer 2 and 3 management, routing services, and advanced switching techniques.
  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous about cabling, labeling, and maintaining a polished appearance for network stacks.
  • Problem-Solver: Ability to tackle challenges head-on and find innovative solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with CIOs, CTOs, and Directors of Technology.
  • Adaptability: Capable of quickly changing priorities while maintaining progress on long-term projects.
  • Initiative: Able to take a project and run with it, demonstrating a proactive approach.
  • Mentorship: Enjoys teaching and guiding others, contributing to the growth of the team.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time remote position located in Fishkill, NY, with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday. Onsite client visits required as needed. Candidates must live within one hundred miles of Fishkill, NY.
