Work Location: Hybrid/Washington, DC.

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented cybersecurity professional to support our Department of State client. The candidate will support FISMA compliance.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a vulnerability scanning strategy using Nessus, prioritizing software development assets.
  • Configure, maintain, and optimize Nessus instances for software-centric security assessments.
  • Design custom Nessus scan templates and policies aligned with software development risks.
  • Analyze scan results in tandem with Government leadership to, identify critical vulnerabilities, and develop prioritized remediation plans.
  • Develop detailed documentation, knowledge bases, and training materials for Nessus usage.
  • Generate FISMA-compliant vulnerability reports for government stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of in-depth Nessus administration, configuration, and optimization experience.
  • Deep understanding of software vulnerabilities, threat vectors, and scanning techniques.
  • Familiarity with FISMA standards and their integration with vulnerability management processes.
  • Experience interpreting and customizing Nessus scan results.
  • Proven ability to automate Nessus tasks and reporting using scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
  • Experience with secure coding principles and software development lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Nessus deployments.

Desired Qualifications:

  • One or more Nessus-related certifications (or equivalent vendor-specific).

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance.
