OpenStack Architect / Sr. Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Have the opportunity to join a fast growing High-Tech firm as an OpenStack Architect / Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer working on their impressive internal Cloud Infrastructure that enables their applications to prosper. Join a team of software and system engineers focused on scaling this Cloud Infrastructure. Every day this firm uses their system architecture & engineering skills to dig deep into the OpenStack architecture and influence the reliability and supportability aspects. This team has the vision and a mission to automate away highly operational tasks such as break/fix, cluster migrations, new service build-outs, abuse, etc. On any given day you will work with engineering, product & project managers, test and automation teams on everything from architecture to developing strategic and tactical solutions.

Responsibilities:
As a member of the Cloud Services team you'll deliver one of the largest and most mature OpenStack-based clouds in the High-Tech space. This infrastructure supports critical products with a tremendous impact across this firm’s products. You'll help the firm increase their velocity and deployment of additional functions such as CaaS, LaaS and others. There will be frequent opportunities to learn and improve your networking skills in areas like BGP and layer 7 services. You'll also have opportunities to contribute back into leading Open Source infrastructure projects such as OpenStack, Ceph and OpenCompute.

Responsibilities:
• Drive strategy to add and improve Cloud and Storage product features
• Improve cloud and storage product reliability, availability, maintainability, cost/benefit
• Design new hardware architectures for cloud products
• Design new network architectures for cloud products
• Re-architect the firm's OpenStack distro

Qualifications:
• Must have 3+ years of Scripting / Automation experience, prefer Python and/or Ruby.
• 3+ years of Private Cloud experience with at least 2+ years of OpenStack.
• 2+ years of OpenStack and Ceph experience, perform the configuration, deployment and operations support with both block and S3 configurations
• 3+ years of Virtualization experience. Linux hypervisor (ideally, KVM) expertise
• 4+ years Networking expertise with experience working with Linux kernel network features, BGP, routing, REST APIs.
• 3+ years High Availability (HA) Engineering experience (consensus algorithms, fail-over mechanisms, clustering, etc.)
• Prefer experience working with Nova API
• Any Public Cloud (e.g. AWS) experience is a plus.
