Kitchen Support

PRIMARY FUNCTION:[1] To prepare various meals for the Children’s Center; maintaining the quality and nutritional standards as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:[1]

1. Under the direction of the Director of Food Service, provides nutritious meals meeting the guidelines and requirements of the pre planned menus meeting the requirements for the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
2. Maintains a clean working environment, which includes the food preparation and storage areas, in compliance with all regulations.
3. Helps to clear and wash dishes, pans and cooking utensils.
4. Assists in the receipt of food products and the proper storage of materials.
5. Consistently follows all guidelines of the Health Department, the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the YWCA.
6. Safe delivery of meals and snacks to Children’s Center Classrooms.
7. Safeguards confidential information gained as a result of the position.
8. Complies with applicable local, state and federal licensing requirements/certification and or regulations.
9. Complies with Association policy regarding required reporting of child abuse and neglect.
10. Works cooperatively with program participants, YWCA staff and volunteers.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.

New jobs were created as a result of the Edison expansion. The expansion provides childcare services 24 hours per day 7 days per week.
