Job DescriptionJob Description Nature & ScopeYour Piece of the PuzzleImagine Staffing is recruiting for a Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client, a manufacturing facility. This is a temp to hire role offering competitive pay ($20-$25/hr) and a dynamic work culturePrimary Functions & ResponsibilitiesTasks That Will Lead You to Success
  • Verifies information on hourly timecards, i.e. dates, badge numbers, etc. Batches, logs totals and forwards for processing.
  • Prepares and calculates payroll adjustments, such as overages/ shortages, retroactive pay, grievance and/or arbitration proceedings, sick pay, vacation pay, jury duty, etc. Maintains logs of adjustments and forwards for processing
  • Maintain hourly vacation eligibility log. Responsible to review and approve or deny based on department liabilities.
  • Maintain and post department communications; update database as needed.
  • Prepares summary reports.
  • Assist with discipline process.
  • Understand and execute bargaining agreement, polices, and procedures associated with the union.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • AAS in Accounting or related field; relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
  • 1 - 3 years’ of work experience in payroll processing and/or general accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • High volume payroll experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kronos and/or UKG strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant wage laws and tax regulations.
  • Excellent PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel software application.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
