ABOUT THIS POSITION
The Cook Supervisor position will be located in our commissary kitchen setting. This person will be responsible for executing the daily/weekly menu to company recipe specifications and the day to day operations of the commissary. Main responsibilities will be: preparing exciting and engaging meals following Genuine recipes, leading a team of cooks, managing daily prep and ensuring all food safety & sanitation standards are being met.
- Ensure food safety standards are being followed at all times
- Cook and prep food correctly based on recipes and specifications provided from the Chef/Genuine Foods
- Communicate with the PKM and/or RAM on any pertinent issues with product, staffing, timing, etc.
- Manage cooks and assistant supervisors to ensure they are following proper Genuine standards, recipes, etc while providing guidance and training.
- Act as the lead in the absence of the PKM.
- Maintains standards as outlined by the Department of Health for a food safe environment and reports immediately any issues such as equipment or facilitates related.
- Coordinate with team members to ensure all food is prepared on time for delivery.
- Maintain a clean working environment and help the team with any additional cleaning duties.
- Keep the area stocked and organized.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be flexible & team-oriented
- 3+ year of line cook or culinary experience
- 1+ year of management experience
- Willingness to learn the compliance requirements of the USDA National School Lunch Program.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and level headedness.
- Punctual and able to adhere to the time and attendance policy.
- Able to climb stairs and lift up 50 lbs.
- Interest in and committed to Genuine Foods’ mission to use food to help students enhance their minds, bodies and happiness.
- Must be able to work in a school environment.
