What You’ll Do

As a Family Nurse Practitioner at Strong Children Wellness, you will play a vital role in providing primary healthcare services to children and families. Working in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan, from newborns to adolescents, with a focus on preventive care, health promotion, and disease management. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families, providing support, education, and compassionate care. Your responsibilities will also include prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, and interpreting the results to develop effective treatment plans. Additionally, you will participate in team meetings, collaborate with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

A typical day in this role may include:

  • Conducting comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests to inform diagnosis and treatment plans
  • Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans
  • Prescribing medications and providing appropriate treatments
  • Providing health education and counseling to patients and families
  • Participating in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care
  • Documenting patient encounters and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Requirements

You are a skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare services to children and families. What You'll Have

  • Valid and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in New York
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, preferably in a primary care setting
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare practices, procedures, and protocols
  • Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic tests and formulating treatment plans
  • Effective communication and counseling skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility
  • Dedication to providing exceptional patient-centered care
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up to date with evidence-based practices
  • Desire to contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Nice-to-have, but not required: Spanish fluency
