SALARY

  • Corrections Cook I - $22.30 - $31.24/hr. see below
  • Corrections Cook II - $23.64 - $33.10/hr. see attached

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One (1) year experience in institution, restaurant, or related food service experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a food handler’s permit.
  • Must possess a valid Utah driver’s license.
  • Must possess a HACCP Safe Serve National Restaurant Certification within three (3) months of hire date.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares breakfast, lunch and dinner; prepares food by washing, peeling, trimming, and cutting; measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen equipment; bakes biscuits, pies, cakes, etc.
  • Cooks and prepares food for meals as scheduled by pre-planned menus.
  • Adjusts pre-planned menus as needed to accommodate necessary food substitutes; prepares meals for special diets; adjusts recipe proportions as needed.
  • Cleans equipment used; washes pots and pans; sweeps and mops kitchen floor; cleans working area.
  • Performs related duties as required.
