ABOUT BALTIMORE COUNTRY CLUB

Baltimore Country Club was founded in 1898 and it was a success from the start, with 600 members enjoying its 150-acre facility less than five miles from downtown Baltimore. Just one year after opening, the Club gained immediate recognition in the golf world by hosting the fifth United States Open Championship. Today the Club is over 3,200 members strong with two campuses. It is widely recognized as one of the top 50 country clubs in the nation and top 100 in the world. We are all about the simple truth and doing what is right, not what is easy.

A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR

This year's theme is Adventure Land. Camp Counselors are responsible for the safety, learning and entertainment of children ages 4-12 years old attending the Club's Summer camp. The ideal candidate is creative and professional. You will be required to treat children with dignity and respect, meeting the needs of individual children with awareness of their interests, special talents and needs, cultural background, and individual learning styles. Perks of this position include participation in activities like singing, dancing, jumping and running. You will be responsible for feeding and being aware of any allergies. This position requires you to be present during all 4 camp sessions, which are listed below.

Camp sessions:

June 24-28

July 8-12

July 15-19

July 29-August 2

August 5-9

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The minimum age for this position is 16 years old
  • Previous experience working with children (Camps, babysitting, teacher's aide, etc)
  • You must have reliable transportation
  • Desire to work with children and ability to supervise them in related activities
  • Must be a quick thinker and effective problem solver
  • Enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self-control
  • Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues
  • Observe and monitor children's play activities
  • You must be able to work as a team player
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Keep records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered
  • Must be adaptable in a continuously changing, fast-paced environment
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs
  • Will be required to communicate clearly and appropriately with children, parents, and fellow staff

Experience working in a Country Club is strongly preferred, but not required. Are you a team player? Are you able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment? Do you go above and beyond to help others?
