The HPC Intake Coordinator will support the programs of ACTS that make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in crisis. This position is temporary for about 3 months: June through August. This position performs a broad range of critical administrative tasks and crisis intervention (as needed) including enrolling clients for food, goods, advocacy and referral to relevant resources to foster self-sufficiency, health and wellness.

Position Title and Department: Temporary HPC Intake Specialist – Hunger Prevention Center/Operations

Salary: $20.07 per hour

Reports to: HPC Program Manager

Hours per week: 20

Schedule: Final schedule TBD – applicants with similar availability are encouraged to apply

Monday 9-11:30am, then 1-3pm;

Tuesday 1-3:30pm, then 5-7pm

Wednesday 10-2pm

Thursday 9-11:30am then 1-3pm

Friday 9-11:30am

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt (Overtime after 40 hours)

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.

  • Conduct a comprehensive initial screening process to determine eligibility for agency and partner sponsored assistance for all clients.

  • Respond appropriately to crisis calls and walk-ins and refer each to appropriate service/program.

  • Assist clients to determine individual health and wellness needs.

  • Prepare client food requests, noting health and diet concerns.

  • Accurately complete required paperwork to ensure timely service to clients. Provide Program information in person, over the phone, and via email.

  • Make referrals to additional ACTS programs, advocate for collaborative client services and refer clients for supplemental food
