About this position
This position is responsible for accomplishing duties, as assigned, to create and maintain quality facilities.
What you’ll be doing
- Repairing and painting exterior and interior surfaces;
- Completing rough or finish framing;
- Forming and finishing concrete, ramps, steps, walkways, and curbing for playground matting;
- Repairing and installing plumbing systems, water, sewer lines, and/or plumbing fixtures;
- Repairing and installing electrical services, including hardware;
- Repairig and installing telephone lines;
- Repairing and installing chain link fencing;
- Constructing wooden ramps and stairs, wooden canopies, and woodsheds;
- Moving furniture, equipment, supplies and other items, as directed;
- Reporting and correcting safety hazards;
- Assisting team members as needed;
- Reading and implementing all agency and program policies and procedures;
- Working effectively with other team members;
- Actively participating in in-service trainings;
- Accurately completing all assigned paperwork and documentation on a timely basis, according to Agency policies and procedures;
- Carrying a cell phone, as required, for on-call maintenance;
- Monitoring and maintaining all building systems, as assigned;
- Responsible for alerting the major projects supervisor or maintenance supervisor of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that may take place, or the need for preventative maintenance;
- Maintaining a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees;
- Assuring safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, State and Federal guidelines;
- Inspecting facilities to identify needed repairs and safety problems;
- Coordinating with contractors to complete contracted renovations, repairs, or maintenance;
- May be assigned as primary painter, major projects tech, or maintenance tech.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you bring to the table
- Two years of experience in the construction industry, including: painting, framing, concrete, plumbing, and electrical;
- Knowledge of construction practices and principles;
- Ability to use typical power and hand construction tools;
- Ability to develop project material lists and estimate costs;
- Ability to lift weights of 50 pounds on a regular basis;
- Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively;
- A California driver’s license and driving record acceptable to Agency’s insurance carrier.

Job specifications
- Reports to the major projects supervisor or maintenance supervisor;
- Twelve-month work year.
- Limited evening or weekend hours may be required.
- Requires travel to local sites daily.
- Employment, responsibilities, compensation, or any other factor may be affected by changes in governmental regulation, the Agency’s contracts, or at Agency discretion.
Salary
- $25.07 - $27.62 per hour
