Job Summary:

This position is on-call, hourly, and as-needed.  Ideal candidates are flexible current students or recent graduates of Southwest Technical College.  Provides support to various efforts across the college, including miscellaneous clerical work, event setup, representing the college at events, assistance with catering, cleanup, and assorted projects as needed.  A small pool of employees will be notified of available assignments, and will be scheduled according to responses; lack of acceptance of work opportunities for an extended period of time will result in termination of employment.


Essential Functions:

  1. Assists with the setup and cleanup of events on and off campus
  2. Enthusiastically and professionally represents the college at various events as assigned
  3. Participates in college recruiting efforts
  4. Performs assigned clerical duties with diligence and accuracy
  5. Assists students in the Student Navigation Center, providing access to resources, scheduling study space, etc.
  6. Provides check-in assistance at the college Testing Center
  7. Assists with other college projects and duties as assigned
  8. Much of the work will be scheduled during regular business hours, but may also be scheduled nights and/or weekends

 

Qualifications:                                

To perform at a proficient level and to be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have:

  1. Education: Must be a current student or recent graduate (within the last 30 days).
  2. Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.



Environmental Factors: 

Conventional Educational Environment. In some programs, employees may occasionally be exposed to cleaning chemicals and the hazards associated with their respective industry equipment.
