Job Summary:

A kitchen steward supervisor maintains the kitchen and surrounding areas, keeping them clean and sanitary. The duties may include creating and maintaining a cleaning schedule for the kitchen, cleaning the stoves, ovens, pots, pans, grills, and refrigerators, and washing dishes, glasses, and cutlery.

A stewarding supervisor oversees, coordinates, and inspects every activity in the facility ranging from the kitchen workers to those working outside the kitchen environment. They supervise the cleaning of the work environment in the kitchen.


Must be available to work AM and PM Shifts


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the stewarding team in all aspects of the department
  • Keep staff on target & focused on their duties
  • Training & development of stewards
  • Supervising and maintaining the sanitation of kitchen equipment
  • Direct and assist Stewards to make clean up more efficient
  • Ensure water temperature and chemical levels are appropriate for cleaning
  • Assist Chefs and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed.

Kitchen Steward Supervisor Functions:

· Attends and participates in all training sessions and team meetings

· Develops and maintains positive working relationships with others while listening and responding in an appropriate manner

· Cleans and sanitizes all dishes, cutlery, etc.

· Cleaning the stoves, ovens, pots, pans, grills, and refrigerators

· Maintains, organizes, and replaces clean dishes

· Ensures all trash containers are emptied.

· Follow instructions and adhere to all procedures and company policies while maintaining a high standard of conduct

· Notifies and reports any problems or concerns to management

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5+ years of previous dishwashing experience
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role
  • Possess a basic knowledge of excellent service standards, food, and beverage preparations as well as etiquette.


Essential Requirements:

  • Available to work weekends, evening shifts and major holidays (Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, along with other special events from time to time)
  • Mandatory compliance with all safety regulations, procedures, policies, and rules
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Always arrives punctually in full uniform with a neat & professional appearance.
  • Frequently Wash Hands for proper food handling
  • Must have reliable transportation to travel to our sister company

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, carrying, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
  • Able to lift 25 pounds without assistance and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Perform moderate physical activity and somewhat strenuous daily activities.
  • May be exposed to moderate noise levels.
