Job Summary:

A senior accountant is integral to the organization's financial management, focusing on preparing and reviewing financial statements, conducting detailed financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.  They assist in budgeting and forecasting, implement robust internal control, and analyze cost structures to identify savings opportunities.  Additionally, they contribute to strategic financial planning, support corporate finance activities, and effectively communicate financial planning, support corporate finance activities, and effectively communicate financial insights to stakeholders, thereby guiding informed decision-making and promoting fiscal health.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform general bookkeeping and organize financial forms, documents, and receipts.
  • Track accounts receivable and payable for the company by performing any necessary data entry and report generation and preparing monthly reports on the status of accounts.
  • Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Process multi-state sales tax and render payments.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation and maintaining compliance.
  • Continue ongoing education by participating in webinars, workshops, and networking events.
  • Protect company value by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures, recommending changes.
  • Accomplished accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, required
  • 3 - 5 years of related experience, required

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Multi-state sales tax experience preferred
  • Microsoft Business Central experience preferred

  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Be proactive, organized, and handle work in a stressful environment.

 Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment:

This role can be quite stressful, particularly when some problems or issues arise, and need to be to always remain calm and in control. May work in a fast-paced environment. This position typically works 40+ hours a week and may involve weekend or evening hours.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and converse with employees, maintain a stationary position (standing and sitting), move/traverse, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms for extended periods. This position must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
