Insero Talent Solutions has partnered with an industry-leading manufacturing company in Penfield to recruit a Staff Accountant.

Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Assistant Controller and will be responsible for general accounting functions and projects, including sales tax, general ledger, financial reporting, billing, and accounts payable.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing sales reports and filing sales tax returns.
  • Processing sales tax general ledger entries.
  • Reconciling sales tax accounts.
  • Reconciling general ledger accounts and posting journal entries.
  • Assisting with preparing financial statements and monthly reports.
  • Processing invoices and backing up all billing processes.
  • Serving as a back-up with accounts payable.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
  • Highly motivated to learn and understand new processes and procedures.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and social skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems., MAS or Sage experience is desired.
