Eastern Oregon Cancer Center is seeking a Radiation Therapist to provide compassionate radiation oncology care in the historic town of Pendleton, Oregon.

As a Radiation Therapist for Eastern Oregon Cancer Center, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Accurately deliver the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy under the direction of the prescribing radiation oncologist.
  • Advanced knowledge of health information system- ARIA, MOSAIQ
  • Observe patients for unusual reactions and recognize signs and symptoms of developing complications during treatment course. Report/consult findings to appropriate staff.
  • Implement care/services that recognize age, diversity, individual needs and/or issues of customers served.
  • Confidently explain treatment procedures to patients as it is performed in a clear, concise manner. Be able to answer patients’ and their families’ questions and defer appropriately when such questions are outside the scope of a Radiation Therapist’s credentials or education.
  • Act as a representative for Radiation Business Solutions in community and demonstrate ENCORE values.
  • Reviews charges for accuracy and compliance with billing practices
  • Compliant with HIPAA practices

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Practice effective infection control procedures.
  • Perform equipment and patient care quality assurance in accordance with department standards. Report any erratic operation of equipment, related to patient/personnel safety.
  • Maintain department records of daily treatment. Review charts regularly for accuracy. Perform chart audits as directed.
  • Lead code blue drills.
  • Responsible for daily warm-up procedures for treatment equipment for quality assurance.
  • Applies principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
  • Complete morning QA unsupervised, reports errors, and makes appropriate corrective care
  • Observe radiation safety measures and report any discrepancies that do not meet N.R.C. regulations. Verbally notify physics or engineering if measurements do not fall into accepted parameters.
Requirements:


  • BLS Certification (Required)
  • ARRT Certification (Required)
