Job Summary:

Jerry Haggerty Chevrolet is seeking a full-time Body Shop Estimator to join our team in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. This position is a key role in our collision center , responsible for accurately and efficiently estimating the cost of repairs for our customers' vehicles. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a thorough understanding of the automotive and collision industry. This is a highly demanding fast paced position with a base salary plus commission, allowing for a competitive earning potential.



Compensation & Benefits:
The Body Shop Estimator position at Jerry Haggerty Chevrolet offers a competitive compensation package with a base salary of $68,000 to $100,000 per year, paid weekly. In addition to the base salary, the position also offers the opportunity for commission, providing unlimited earning potential. Our comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Responsibilities:
• Accurately assess damage to vehicles and determine the cost of repairs
• Consult with customers and provide detailed and transparent estimates for repair work
• Ensure all estimates adhere to industry standards and comply with insurance guidelines
• Document all repairs and maintain accurate records in our computer system
• Communicate with insurance companies on behalf of customers to process claims and ensure timely payment
• Collaborate with the service team to prioritize repairs and meet deadlines
• Keep up-to-date with industry developments and technological advancements in order to provide accurate and competitive estimates
• Provide exceptional customer service and address any concerns or questions from customers regarding their vehicle repairs

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in automotive repair is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years' experience as an automotive body shop estimator 
• Strong knowledge of automotive repair and estimating processes
• Proficiency in computer software, specifically estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
