Requirements:
- Current NC Teaching License
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education
- EC Certification
- Knowledge of IEP process
Special Education Teachers are responsible for working with students who experience emotional, learning, and physical disabilities and are eligible for specific programs and services as determined by an IEP committee. Special Education Teachers will identify students with special needs, organize student caseloads with an effective IEPC system, and establish and implement strategies to best assist with disabilities. Special Education Teachers may also work with at-risk students within the general education population and in the general education classrooms in conjunction with the support they are providing to students with special needs. Special Education Teachers are considered regularly scheduled employees and we look forward to their return in the following years.
