Responsibilities:
- Draft various legal documents, such as pleadings, discovery requests and responses, declarations, and motions.
- Organize and manage digital files, mediation binders, trial notebooks, and exhibits.
- File and serve legal documents with state and federal courts, including pleadings and motions.
- Oversee calendar and litigation deadlines, ensuring compliance with the California Code of Civil Procedure, Local Court Rules, and Department Rules.
- Handle document management, including the coordination, review, redaction, organization, and summarization of documents for discovery and depositions.
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel as necessary.
- Perform other related duties as needed, consistent with the general scope of the responsibilities described.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited program.
- Over 5 years of experience as a civil litigation paralegal, with trial experience being a plus.
- Familiar with the California Code of Civil Procedure, Local Court Rules, and Department Rules.
- Proficient in legal writing, capable of independently drafting key documents and pleadings.
- In-depth understanding of legal proceedings and research principles, concepts, and methodologies.
- Skilled in using Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
