Brookridge Retirement Community located in Winston-Salem is a gated community that sits on 46 wooded acres. Brookridge has 24-hour security so that our residents remain safe at all times. Job Objective: Assist the CNA with non-patient care duties.

Job Qualifications/Duties

  1. Must adhere to all policies and procedures of ThriveMore of NC
  2. *Must be at least 18 years of age.
  3. *Must be able to use the English language to satisfy the communications and record keeping requirements involved in the performance of this job position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  4. Must have completed PCA course and can provide the Certificate of Completion
  5. Must maintain a neat well-groomed appearance.
  6. *Must comply with facility's drug testing and substance abuse policies and programs.
  7. *Must be able to safely perform all essential and non-essential functions of the job without harm to self or others, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  8. Must be able to transport residents safely by wheelchair/gerichair to activities, dining and other in-house functions.
  9. Must be able to change linen and make beds repetitively.
  10. Must be able to follow infection control measures as instructed.
  11. Must be able to pass ice water safely and timely to the residents.
  12. May feed residents upon completion of training in feeding techniques and the Heimlich Maneuver. Documentation and return demonstration required.
  13. Must be able to distribute linen as needed while practicing proper infection control measures.
  14. MUST NOT PARTICIPATE IN DIRECT PATIENT CARE.
  15. Assist with passing of snacks, but can only assist with feeding if qualifications of # 10 above have been met.
  16. Other job duties as assigned by the charge nurse or supervisor.

Responsibility in an Emergency:

Expected to respond to emergency situations involving the safety of residents, other employees and the physical plant, according to instructions and training provided by the facility. This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of residents.
