POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Test Analyst (TA) uses approved processes and tools in the evaluation, testing and validation of supported IT systems, services and software. The TA will follow ITA Group standards and best practices to develop test cases and automated scripts from business requirements and stories, execute manual and automated test cases and scripts, report defects, verify fixes and work with test leadership to support quality initiatives and education. The TA will work with developers to ensure unit tests are created and automated and will be responsible for development and execution of functional and non-functional testing (including performance and security testing). The TA will participate in final decisions on readiness of software for product release and assist test leadership with day-to-day work to ensure project delivery is on time, in scope, on budget and at the right level of quality.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- AA or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Three or more years’ experience designing and executing test plans and test cases.
- Three or more years’ experience collaborating with technical staff and business users.
- Experience with automated UI, batch job and API testing.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Visual Studio, SpecFlow, Selenium, Postman, BurpSuite, NeoLoad and JMeter.
- Proficient software testing background through hands-on experience with functional, non-functional and automated testing.
- Proficient understanding of the SDLC process including analysis, design, development, system and user testing, problem resolution and planning.
- Proficient understanding of agile testing practices.
- Ability to execute manual and automated tests and report results. Ability to identify tests case candidates for automated regression suite.
- Ability to interpret test plans to understand strategies, priorities, schedules, and expectations of testing tasks.
- Ability to create and execute non-functional test plans and strategies including performance, load and security testing.
- Ability to create and execute automation test plans and frameworks.
- Ability to identify, analyze, log, and retest system defects found during test execution.
- Ability to coordinate testing on small to medium, low complexity initiatives including test estimation, test planning, test execution, defect management, acceptance and production validation coordination.
- Ability to promote and support enterprise testing practices.
- Requires creativity, sound judgment, and the foresight to identify potential problems within the application and its interface.
- Strong motivation and self-direction, sound problem solving skills, decision making and multi-tasking skills.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to listen, understand and respond to external and internal customers’ needs in a timely manner; customer service experience in a service-related industry preferred.
- Ability to work the time necessary to complete projects and/or meet deadlines.
