The Industrial Painter will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of industrial surfaces including machinery, equipment, structures, and vehicles. Your role involves preparing surfaces for painting, selecting appropriate paint or coating materials, and applying them using various methods such as spraying, brushing, or rolling. You will work closely with other team members to ensure quality standards are met and deadlines are achieved.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as necessary to ensure proper adhesion of paint or coatings.


2. Material Selection: Select appropriate paint or coating materials based on surface type, environmental factors, and desired finish.


3. Application: Apply paint or coatings using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other methods to achieve even coverage and desired finish. Staging parts in blast and paint areas using forklifts and various equipment.


4. Mixing: Mix paint or coating materials to proper consistency and color according to specifications.


5. Safety: Adhere to the company safety protocols and guidelines.


6. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain painting equipment and tools in good working condition. Includes cleaning, masking, and prepping parts. Operate and troubleshoot airless and conventional spray equipment.


7. Quality Control: Inspect for defects by performing minor repairs to damaged parts during assembly prior to shipment.


8. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and time spent on each project.



OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

1. Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance


2. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed to support production schedules.


3. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.


4. Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with

cross-functional teams.


5. Must be able to wear a tight-fitting sealed respirator (Any applicants considered for hire will be required to pass a pre-hire medical exam at the time of drug testing).


Education:

1 High school diploma or equivalent.

2. (2) years of relative experience preferred.


TRAINING:

1. NACE

2. SSPC


Critical Skills:

1. Shot Blaster.

2. Airless sprayer experience.

3. Abrasive blasting experience.

4. Forklift experience preferred.

5. Two component paint mixing experience preferred.

Physical Demands:

1. Regularly: Stand, sit, reach with hands or arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and lift 35 pounds.

2. Frequently: Walk and use hands to finger.

3. Vision Requirements: Close, peripheral, depth, perception and ability to adjust and focus.


Ability to Commute/Relocate:

Starkville, MS 39759: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)


Work Environment:

Shop environment.


Schedule:

Day shift, 6am-4:30pm
