Title: Senior Java Developer

Location Boston, MA

Duration: 06+ Months

Job Description:

About the Position/Team:

  • They manage Risk IT/business risk within global market.
  • They handle several initiatives under security finance and foreign exchange risk.
  • Financial risk management work.
  • They involve daily marginal, collateral selection, risk reduction CCST, some of it is binding with bank, minimize risk.
  • 95% new development work and 5% production support.
  • Some are on East coast; John is in London and some team India & China.
  • Debugging in production issues
  • Custody Assets as FX Collateral, and SF Risk and Collateral projects.

Required Skills:

  • Senior Java/J2EE, (8 plus year), preferred in financial service experience (Knowledge of security lending, foreign exchange, collateral management same familiarity around this skills)
  • Spring boot.
  • Oracle PL/SQL - Database part is secondary- Especially Debugging
  • Webservices in Public Cloud services
  • Experience in JMS, Kafka,
  • SOAP/REST Webservices
  • Quartz scheduler,
  • ORM frameworks - Hibernate/ibatis/Mybatis
  • A proactive candidate will support time sensitive work.

Candidate must be able to explain the portion of the project instead of writing multiple stuff on the project.

Resumes must be thoroughly formatted.

Good communication written and verbal, will coordinate with multiple teams.

Nice to have:

  • React & Angular framework experience.
  • Unix shell scripting.
  • Bash scripting

  • Is this role supporting a specific project or initiative, which project or initiative is this role supporting?
    This role is supporting Global Markets Risk and Capital Optimization IT area specifically looking at two projects currently (Custody Assets as FX Collateral, and SF Risk and Collateral projects).

  • What will the interview process look like (phone screen, face to face, meet with team, how many rounds, etc)? Is there a test in the interview the candidate should be prepared for?
    Zoom call initially and some face to face in Boston ideally afterwards to meet with some existing team members for further interview (but will accept non-local who are willing to relocate)
    Likely 2-3 rounds
    There may be some technical questions but not necessarily a written test.

  • What are the working hours, time zone?
    8 AM 5 PM EST. This role will be hybrid with 4 days onsite in Boston, MA.

  • What is the duration of this contract and is there a chance it will be extended?
    Will be at least a year and if the candidate is strong and a good fit, there is a possibility for conversion to employee thereafter

  • What training will be provided for this contractor and what are first day expectations?
