Test Development Engineer

American Battery Solutions has a full-time opening for a Test Development Engineer in Lake Orion, MI.

Job Summary:

The Test Development Engineer is responsible for assisting with developing and implementing the test integration process and procedures for testing of ABS products. They work closely with other engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate execution of testing activities, while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency. In addition, work collaboratively with the Senior Test Development Engineer to maximize the internal testing services.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the test integration process and procedures for ABS products.
• Develop and maintain battery validation test scripts and parameter files for different test integration platforms like AVL Lynx for development and validation testing.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of testing activities.
• Collaborate with the systems testing and validation teams to ensure timely resolution of defects and issues.
• Support testing at outside test houses for test setup, monitoring, and data recorder platform installation and troubleshooting.
• Work with the Test Lab, Validation, and Systems Testing leads, along with other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution of testing activities.
• Support validation and/or systems testing in other ways as needed.
• Mentor, train, coach and lead other test, validation, and/or systems personnel as appropriate; especially as the subject matter pertains to test integration.
• Adhere to federal and state regulations.
• Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
• Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s of Science degree in an Engineering discipline.
• Experience with AVL Lynx test system preferred.
• Proficient in script development and writing, preferably with at least one (1) year of experience low and high voltage battery testing.
• Adept in data processing and statistical analysis; particularly with test data.
• Skilled with integrating testing equipment and data acquisition equipment to main test stand
• Willing to work hands on with batteries and test equipment.
• Effective communicator, capable of concisely presenting highly technical test data to internal customers.
• Self-motivated problem solver, pays attention to the details, challenges the status quo, and strives for continuous improvement.
• Contributes to team growth by collaborating with cross-function teams and completing projects in a timely manner.
