Irrigation Technician Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Greets members and guests with a smile and takes care of their needs.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all irrigation equipment, including pump stations, irrigation controllers, and sprinklers.
- Operates, maintains, and repairs irrigation system, including leaks in distribution lines, valves, and risers.
- Repairs control lines and sprinkler heads.
- Maintains and repairs satellite controllers.
- Inspects the various components of the irrigation system, periodically, to ensure proper operation.
- Represents the club with the utmost of professionalism.
- Cleans maintenance area and equipment daily.
- Follows safety guidelines described in the operating procedures and generally practices behavior that ensures the safety of the employee, co-workers, members, and guests.
Irrigation Technician Experience & Qualifications:
- Working knowledge and applicability of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and of various types of pumps and pumping systems.
- Must have valid driver’s license to operate Club vehicle.
Irrigation Technician Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relate to a wide variety of people.
- Pro-active problem solver who is both approachable and tactful.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Must be able to troubleshoot problems and have the aptitude to repair equipment.
- Must have the willingness to provide exceptional service to members.
Irrigation Technician Physical Requirements:
- Stands, kneels, bends, climbs, balances, pushes and walks for 95% of workday.
- Lifts from 1 pound up to 10 pounds for 90% of workday.
- Lifts from 1 pound up to 25 pounds for 50% of workday.
- Lifts and moves from 1 pound up to 50 pounds for 25% of workday.
- Stoops, crawls, reaches, twists, and manipulates equipment and power tools to complete work assignments.
- Exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, loud noise levels and or airborne particles.
- Works outdoors in inclement weather 90% of the workday.
