General Definition of Work

Performs difficult skilled administrative work related to all aspects of treasury functions including cash management, investment analysis, and assisting with various financial transactions, maintaining financial records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Finance Director.

Essential Functions

Responsible for recording, processing, and analyzing all banking and investment activity.

Monitors daily bank activity for unusual activity as well as monitors positive pay and ACH control.

Performs bank and general ledger account reconciliations.

Analyzes balance sheet accounts including cash and contra cash accounts.

Calculates cash transfer requirements based on analysis of inter-fund activity.

Analyzes certain bank related transactions and provides information to appropriate officials.

Assists Director in selecting financial investments.

Assists Director with cash forecasting.

Prepares and maintains a variety of financial reports, forms, records and files.

Provides information for the annual independent audit process as required.

Consults with the Director on technical procedures as needed.

Performs other financial duties or assists with projects as assigned.

Fulfills duties of Accounting Associate when called upon.

Encourages and promotes a culture of excellent customer service.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft software suite, as well as an thorough proficiency with Microsoft Excel; thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial statements; thorough knowledge of treasury management policies, practices and procedures; ability to analyze and reconcile bank and ledger accounts; thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology and methods; general knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to make arithmetic computations using while numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages; ability to operate a variety of accounting, office and data entry equipment; ability to type at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, coordinating agencies and the general public.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Experience with treasury or related accounting functions is preferred.

Physical Requirements

This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires sitting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices).

Special Requirements

Valid driver's license in the State of Georgia with a favorable driving history.

Favorable background history as determined by review of local, State, and Federal records.
