Job Overview

The Cabinet Assembler is responsible for safely assembling cabinetry components efficiently and accurately while meeting build time expectations.

In a fast-paced environment, this position is an integral part of the process. Being a team player is essential since all tasks require close collaboration with co-workers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Visual inspection of all components to ensure quality standards are met
  • Assemble cabinetry components efficiently and accurately (backs, sides, and fronts)
  • Install doors, drawers, and hardware (drawer slides, drawer boxes, and drawer fronts)
  • Use measuring tape, glue guns and small screw guns to attach parts
  • Packaging cabinets for shipping
  • Able to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to meet build time expectations
  • All assembly personnel, due to the nature of the work, are required to stand on their feet for an entire shift (with exception of break periods/lunch)
  • Punctual and regular attendance; arrives on time and works hours required to meet goals
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to safely and efficiently operate machinery and tools properly with adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of PPE gear)
  • Ability to analyze situations and find solutions; strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work and communicate well with others
  • Physical stamina and strength
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach

Minimum Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Must be atleast 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus
  • Aptitude for math, problem-solving, computers, and mechanics
  • Apprenticeship or specialization is an asset, but not necessary
  • 2+ years machine operator experience in a cabinet making environment recommended
  • Safety and OSHA training required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is equally moderate to loud.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups employees of organization. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
