As an EDM Finishing Technician, you will play a crucial role in finishing and sizing various punches, dies, and components with precision, adhering to close tolerances. Additionally, you may occasionally fit punches to single-station dies. Effective communication with co-workers and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate work activities is essential for this role.
Job Responsibilities:
- Receive work orders and tools to be finished and sized to print specifications from the supervisor.
- Analyze prints to determine the required finish and allowable tolerances.
- Set up height gauges or comparators, following print specifications, to check shape dimensions and tolerances using micrometers.
- Secure tools in a speed lathe or vise and perform lapping and polishing operations to achieve the correct size and a high-quality polished finish.
- Continuously monitor the piece being finished to ensure it meets final size requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the machine and surrounding area.
Job Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in an EDM Finishing Technician or similar role is required.
- Ability to read and analyze blueprints
- Ability to operate objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent sitting and occasional walking, standing, and stooping.
- Specific vision abilities, including close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, are required. Must be able to read blueprints, gauge dials, micrometers, and inspect parts.
- Ability to monitor sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving of objects up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving of objects up to 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be made for individuals with disabilities, if possible.
Pay: The hourly range is between $27-30/hr based on your education, skills, and experience. 2nd shift offers a $3.00 shift differential
Schedule Availability: Monday - Friday 3:00 pm -11:00 pm. Overtime and Saturdays may be required based on production levels.
