Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger management.
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and provide variance analysis and commentary.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, sales & property tax filings, and reporting obligations, collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to accounting systems, software, and processes to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and support business growth.
- As the company grows, this role will supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to promote professional development and productivity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and disseminate relevant information to finance and management teams.
- Support special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc requests as assigned by executive leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management responsibilities, preferably in a healthcare or medical practice setting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, with skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends and communicate findings effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in managing accounting staff, leading projects, and driving process improvements.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
