Powder Coat Paint Technician

Purpose: Under direct supervision, mask and powder coat/paint metal component parts per customer specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine and inspect components for defects prior to powder coating.
• Applies powder coating to metal parts.
• Operate powder coating spray gun.
• Load powder into machine
• Mask parts as required per customer specifications.
• Determine and establish part preparation, cleaning, powder application and curing requirements for a wide variety of production parts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times.
• Comply with all company processes, procedures, quality directives and safety procedures.
• Clean powder coating machine
• Must be aware of, and work to, established set-up and part quality requirements as established on work orders0

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to learn how to use and read measuring instruments (e. g. gauges, micrometers, calipers) as directed.
• Ability to learn how to read and interpret job routings, blueprints, sketches.

Training Requirements:

• Safety
• Labor ticket entry system (Visual)

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• Frequent stooping, bending, twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling
• Occasional lifting above shoulder level
• Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours at a time
