The Regional Sales Engineer is a key agent of growth at Polygon, responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities. This role is perfect for individuals who thrive on bringing in new logos and expanding our customer base through new prospect outreach and in-person visits with decision makers. The ideal candidate will have the technical and commercial knowledge to consult with customers on their needs and develop strategies to meet and exceed annual operating goals.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand and address technical challenges and champion innovative solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers with the goal of increasing the number of new customers (new logos) year over year.
  • Bridge the gap between customer needs and product capabilities, by collaborating with engineering and manufacturing to ensure the timely initiation and completion of product development aligned with customer design and validation.
  • Upon establishing initial projects and sales, you will facilitate the seamless transition of responsibilities to our customer relationship managers. Success will be measured by the number and quality of new accounts with (new logo) retention rates of three or more years.
  • Track emerging markets and trends to help guide new business ideation. Success is measured by data metrics captured in Salesforce CRM and participation in the rolling twelve-month annual operating plan forecasting process.
  • Foster and work to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions.
  • Travel to customer locations to provide consultative selling and technical support; Participate in industry trade shows and brand building events.
  • Team player with a data driven mindset and use data to increase sales growth.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Financial and business acumen
  • Technical aptitude and industry knowledge of composite bearings or other composite tubing, with commercial experience preferred
  • Experience in adapting to meet or exceed growth objectives and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strategic planning skills
  • Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about product or service to outsiders, including prospective customers and clients, engineers, partners, vendors, and press.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Research and analytical skills
  • Interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Enthusiasm and sincerity

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher degree, with bearings and composite experience preferred

• 5+ years’ technical sales, business development or engineering experience

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, expected travel up to 60% of time
