NOW CFO is seeking a Staff Accountant for our client located in St. Petersburg, Florida. This position involves working onsite with a small, dynamic company known for its fantastic culture. We are looking for a candidate who is interested in a long-term opportunity with significant potential for growth within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs general cost accounting and financial tasks, including maintaining the general ledger.
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Manages account reconciliations, including bank and financial accounts.
  • Processes invoices, sets up new accounts, and closes monthly books.
  • Handles bi-weekly vendor payments and sales tax filings.
  • Manages accounts receivable collections and ensures timely payment of invoices.
  • Assists with external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Files tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Oversees the purchasing and invoicing system.
  • Maintains knowledge of accounting standards and procedures.
  • Performs additional related duties as needed.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial and cost accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in preparing accurate tax reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software, and general ledger systems.
  • QuickBooks experience is a must.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Looking for a long-term position with opportunities for growth.
  • Strong accounting knowledge and a willingness to grow within the company.

Compensation: $60-$65k per year, 401k, PTO etc.
